My Best Friend

Hi all you wonderful peeps! It's time for our weekly challenge over at Sister Act Card Challenge and the prize this week is a goodie bag!! So come on join in our theme is always 'Anything Goes' but it has to be a card..so simple :) I must apologise for not getting around to all your fab blogs I have been catching up on a lot of things I had to let slide when the hubster was poorly...well I say poorly he needs a heart transplant so when he picks any bugs up it's made ten times worse and I go into stress mode and get the 'cotton wool' out to wrap him up in as he calls it!  It was our wedding anniversary on Wednesday which we spent at home nice and cosy with a take-away and we got the photo albums out and had a great time with all the memories..not sure the one of me in hot pants when I was a teenager is one I wanted to dwell on though LOL below is a photo of 'his lordship' keeping guard on his Dad when he was having a nap on his recliner:)  I hope everyone is well and have a wonderful weekend ..TFL and hugglessssss Sue xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Super bright card Sue. Poor old Paul is having such a rough time at the moment - but that has such a knock-on affect on you too. While you are looking after Paul make sure to spend a little time on yourself too! Love and hugs Christine xx

I'm afraid I am far behind with my comments Sue - but like you I am a carer also. My husband has had 3 strokes so time can be limited. Love this bright and cheerful card. Hope your husband is feeling better.

Sue, am glad that things at home have settled a bit - at least for a time, and pray that the health problems can get sorted out soon. I hear you about keeping the 'bugs' away...that is hard to make folks understand sometimes, so you are very right to be extra vigilant. Love the sunny orange bright colors, and it's very cheering. Happy belated anniversary too. I'm glad you both were able to enjoy a quiet & pleasant day, with His Lordship on duty. What a charmer he is too. I remember the hot pants too, along with bell bottoms. Oh those were the days, yes? TFS & hope your wkend is pleasant & quiet & relaxing too. Glad you are getting some crafty time. Hugs

Hello there Sooooooz - I am really miffed that I missed your anniversary - have made a note of it now though missus!!! Glad you both had a nice quiet day with Ollie and a take-away - sounds bliss to me!
Take care of yourself as well as hubster - Ollie looks as if he wants a bit of sympathy as well. Bless him - it's those big gorgeous brown eyes methinks.

Brilliant card by the way, I don't know anyone who does 'orange' like you do - I certainly can't. You always make orange cards look so fresh and bright whilst mine look gaudy - lol. Just wait and see.

Lots of love to you all. - Handcuffs and hotpants ........ what next???

Oh Sue, how did I miss this post - probably thinking too much about things here :( So sorry to hear about your hubby, I had no idea - I knew there was something as you're a full time carer but what a worry for you. Mind you - Ollie makes a good carer too :)

Belated Wedding Anniversary wishes too.

Love and hugs

This is such a lovely card Sue, and I'm so glad you have a creative outlet to help keep your spirits up whilst you are going through all this. I was the Social Worker on a Heart Transplant Team before I retired so I know how difficult it is 'waiting for THE call'. You are in my thoughts and if you want further contact you can email me at

What a warm and lovely card! It is good to see His Lordship hard at work keeping guard. I had no idea your hubby was that poorly. I'm sure just being in that condition is stress enough!

Your card is simply adorable Sue! I love the gingham paper and ribbon and I love the bright cheery color. That image is just adorable. Happy Anniversary to you and hubby!!! Sue, no wonder you are so stressed out, a heart transplant isn't a little thing. I know how hard it is waiting for "the call". We have a cousin who needs an organ and he has been waiting for quite a while now. I pray that a heart is found soon for hubby. I love His Lordship watching over hubby, so sweet. Dogs really are man's best friend. Big hugs, Brenda
